Description

This quiche transforms the rich, cheesy flavors of the Mississippi Sin dip into a delightful pie. Featuring diced ham, cream cheese, cheddar, and a hint of spice, it’s baked in a flaky crust for a dish that’s satisfying and easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup diced ham
  • 2 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded, divided
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tbsp sour cream
  • 1/4 tsp hot sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Kosher salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 (9-inch) deep-dish pie crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook Ham: Heat ham in a skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes to remove excess moisture. Set aside.
  3. Prepare Filling: In a large bowl, mix softened cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add the cooked ham and stir until evenly combined.
  4. Assemble Quiche:
    • Place the ham mixture into the pie crust.
    • Sprinkle with half the shredded cheddar and the green onions.
  5. Mix Custard: In the same bowl, whisk together eggs, sour cream, and heavy cream until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Pour & Top: Pour the egg mixture over the ham filling. Top with the remaining cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake: Place the quiche in the oven and bake for 50-60 minutes or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
  8. Cool & Serve: Allow the quiche to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Make-Ahead: Assemble and refrigerate the unbaked quiche for up to a day or bake and freeze for longer storage.
  • Customization: Add cooked vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for variety.
