Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread (or Italian bread)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise and place it on a baking sheet, cut side up.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  4. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese generously over the buttered bread.
  6. Sprinkle red pepper flakes (if using) on top of the cheese for a little heat.

Notes
