Description

This Turkey Melt is the ultimate sandwichโ€”crispy on the outside, melty and flavorful on the inside! Layers of tender turkey, smoky bacon, sharp cheddar, and fresh spinach are grilled to perfection between slices of golden, buttery bread. Perfect for a quick lunch, dinner, or even a hearty snack!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • For the Sandwich:
    • 4 slices sourdough or your favorite sandwich bread
    • 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
    • 68 slices deli turkey
    • 4 slices cooked bacon
    • 1/2 cup fresh baby spinach leaves
    • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (optional)
    • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • For Grilling:
    • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
    1. Spread mayonnaise on one side of each bread slice. Spread Dijon mustard on the other side if using.
  2. Assemble the Sandwich:
    1. Layer the cheddar cheese, turkey, bacon, and spinach between two slices of bread (mayonnaise side facing out). Repeat for the second sandwich.
  3. Grill the Sandwich:
    1. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add butter and let it melt.
    2. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  4. Serve:
    1. Remove the sandwiches from the skillet, slice in half, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Swap cheddar for Swiss, provolone, or pepper jack for a different flavor profile.
  • Add sliced tomatoes or avocado for extra freshness.
  • For a lighter version, use whole-grain bread and turkey bacon.
