Ingredients
– 2 teaspoon active dry yeast
– 1 teaspoon sugar
– 1/2 cup water (lukewarm)
– 1/4 cup vegetable oil
– 1 egg (large)
– 1/4 cup plain yogurt
– 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
Other:
– 12 teaspoon olive oil
– 4 tablespoon melted butter
– 2 tablespoon chopped parsley
Instructions
1. In a small bowl, combine yeast, sugar, and lukewarm water. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together vegetable oil, egg, yogurt, flour, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and mix until a dough forms.
3. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover and let it rise for 1-2 hours.
4. Divide the dough into equal portions, roll them out into circles, and cook in a skillet with olive oil until golden brown.
5. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
– For a garlic naan variation, add minced garlic to the dough.
– To make a stuffed naan, fill with your favorite ingredients before cooking.
