Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Apple Filling:

  • 6 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt

For the Crisp Topping:

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the apple filling: In a large bowl, toss sliced apples with lemon juice. Add granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix well, then transfer to the prepared baking dish.
  3. Make the crisp topping: In another bowl, combine oats, flour, sugars, cinnamon, and salt. Stir in melted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Assemble and bake: Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apple mixture. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
  5. Cool and serve: Allow the crisp to cool for 10 minutes. Serve warm with your favorite topping.
