For the filling:

- 1 lb ground lamb or beef
- 2 cups carrots, diced
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the mashed potato topping:
- 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup milk or cream
Instructions
- Cook the filling: In a skillet, brown the ground lamb or beef. Add carrots, peas, onion, garlic, thyme, rosemary, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook until vegetables are tender.
- Make the mashed potatoes: Boil potatoes until tender. Mash with butter, milk or cream, salt, and pepper.
- Assemble the pie: Spread the filling in a baking dish. Top with mashed potatoes. Bake until golden brown.
Notes
- You can add grated cheese on top of the mashed potatoes before baking for extra flavor.
