Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Steak:

  • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (about 1-inch thick)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)

For the Creamy Cajun Shrimp Sauce:

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Steak:
    1. Season the steaks with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and smoked paprika on both sides.
    2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    3. Once the oil is hot, add the steaks to the skillet and cook for about 4–5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer depending on your preferred doneness.
    4. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest while you make the sauce.
  2. Make the Cajun Shrimp Sauce:
    1. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
    2. Add the shrimp to the skillet and sprinkle with Cajun seasoning and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for about 2 minutes per side, until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.
    3. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.
  3. Prepare the Creamy Sauce:
    1. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
    2. Add the heavy cream, chicken broth, and lemon juice, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer and let the sauce thicken for 3–4 minutes.
    3. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
    4. Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss them in the creamy sauce.
  4. Serve:
    1. Plate the steaks and top with the creamy Cajun shrimp sauce. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley for a burst of color and freshness.
    2. Serve with your favorite side dishes, like mashed potatoes, rice, or a simple salad.

Notes

  • You can substitute the shrimp for chicken or scallops for a different variation.
  • For extra richness, you can add grated Parmesan cheese to the sauce.
