- 1/2 pound (225 g) cooked shrimp, finely chopped or blended
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 small garlic clove, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for a hint of spice)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill or parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Shrimp
- If using raw shrimp, boil in salted water for 2-3 minutes until pink. Drain, cool, and chop finely or blend into a paste.
2. Soften the Butter
- Let butter sit at room temperature until soft and easy to mix.
3. Mix Everything Together
- In a bowl, combine shrimp, softened butter, garlic, lemon juice, cayenne, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix well with a fork or blend in a food processor for a smoother texture.
- Stir in chopped dill or parsley, if using.
4. Chill & Serve
- Transfer the mixture to a small ramekin or mold and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Serve chilled with crackers, toast, or as a seafood garnish.
