Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough
- 1/2 pound breakfast sausage
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (for brushing)
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for extra indulgence)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cook the sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the breakfast sausage until fully cooked.
- Make the gravy: Sprinkle flour over the sausage and stir well. Slowly pour in the milk while stirring, cooking until thickened. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Remove from heat.
- Prepare the biscuits: Flatten each biscuit slightly. Place a spoonful of sausage gravy in the center, adding shredded cheddar if using.
- Seal the bombs: Fold the edges over the filling, pinching tightly to seal. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush with butter: This helps create a golden, crisp finish.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool slightly and serve: Enjoy warm with extra gravy on the side for dipping!
Notes
- Avoid overfilling to keep the biscuits sealed properly.
- Keep the biscuit dough cold for easier handling.
- Air fryer option: Cook at 350°F for 8-10 minutes, checking for golden brown doneness.
