Scale
- 1 lb ground breakfast sausage
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1/2 tsp onion powder (optional)
- 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for extra cheesiness)
Instructions
- Prepare the Sausage Mixture:
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.
- Transfer the cooked sausage to a mixing bowl and stir in the softened cream cheese until fully combined. If using, add garlic powder, onion powder, and shredded cheddar cheese.
- Prepare the Crescent Rolls:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into individual triangles.
- Fill and Roll:
- Place a spoonful of the sausage mixture (about 1 tbsp) onto the wide end of each crescent triangle.
- Roll up the triangle from the wide end to the narrow tip, encasing the filling. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown and puffed.
- Serve:
- Serve warm as is, or with dipping sauces like ranch or marinara.
Notes
- For a spicier version, use hot sausage or add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven to retain crispiness.
