Ingredients
- 2 lbs chicken wings (drumettes & flats)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Pumpkin Spice Sauce:
- 1/3 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin spice blend (cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves)
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a wire rack for extra crispiness.
Step 2: Season the Wings
Pat wings dry with paper towels. Toss them in salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and olive oil to coat evenly.
Step 3: Make the Pumpkin Spice Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, brown sugar, soy sauce, pumpkin spice blend, cayenne pepper, and olive oil until smooth. Adjust seasoning as needed.
Step 4: Coat the Wings
Place wings in a large bowl or zip-top bag. Pour sauce over wings and toss until well coated.
Step 5: Bake the Wings
Arrange wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
Step 6: Serve
Let the wings rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy with ranch, blue cheese dressing, or your favorite dipping sauce!
Notes
- For extra crispy wings: Bake on a wire rack for better airflow.
- Adjust the spice level: Add more cayenne or a pinch of chili flakes for extra heat.
- Reheating tip: Warm in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes to maintain crispiness.
