Description

These pizza roses are not only adorable but also bursting with delicious flavors! They are perfect for a fun Valentine’s Day dinner or as a creative appetizer for any occasion. Each “rose” is made with pizza dough, topped with tomato sauce, cheese, and your favorite pizza toppings, then rolled into a beautiful rose shape. It’s a delightful combination of cute and tasty!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 package pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices (or any preferred topping)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Olive oil, for brushing
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven
  2. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin or line it with cupcake liners to keep the pizza roses in shape as they bake.
  3. Roll Out the Pizza Dough
  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle, about 1/8-inch thick. Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut the dough into strips, approximately 2 inches wide.
  5. Add the Sauce and Cheese
  6. Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce along each strip of dough. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce, and then layer your choice of toppings (such as pepperoni, sausage, or vegetables).
  7. Form the Roses
  8. Starting from one end of the dough strip, roll it up tightly to form a rose shape. Tuck the end underneath to secure it. Carefully place each pizza rose into the muffin tin, standing upright.
  9. Add Parmesan and Seasonings
  10. Sprinkle the tops of the pizza roses with grated Parmesan cheese and dried oregano. Brush the outside of the roses with a little olive oil to help them bake to a golden brown.
  11. Bake the Pizza Roses
  12. Place the muffin tin in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pizza roses are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  13. Garnish and Serve
  14. Let the pizza roses cool slightly before serving. Garnish with fresh basil leaves for a pop of color and extra flavor.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize the toppings based on your preference. You can use mushrooms, olives, bell peppers, or even chicken.
  • For a more gourmet version, add a drizzle of balsamic glaze over the top after baking.
  • You can also make mini versions using a mini muffin tin for bite-sized treats.
