- 4 slices of bread (white or sourdough works best)
- 4 tablespoons butter (softened)
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 8 slices mozzarella cheese
- 16 slices pepperoni
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread generously.
- Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, on the skillet.
- Spread 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce on the unbuttered side of each slice.
- Layer 2 slices of mozzarella, 8 slices of pepperoni, and sprinkle with Italian seasoning (if using).
- Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side up.
- Cook for 2–3 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
