Description

These Perfectly Crispy Oven-Baked Sweet Potato Fries are the ideal side dish or snack. With a golden, crispy exterior and a tender, sweet interior, these fries are seasoned to perfection and baked in the oven for a healthier twist on a classic favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into thin fries
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for extra crispiness)
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare the Fries: Place the cut sweet potatoes in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat evenly.
  3. Season the Fries: Sprinkle the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper over the fries. If you prefer extra crispiness, add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch and toss again until the fries are well-coated.
  4. Arrange the Fries: Spread the fries in a single layer on the baking sheet, making sure they aren’t crowded (this ensures they cook evenly and get crispy).
  5. Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping the fries halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy on the edges.
  6. Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let the fries cool for a couple of minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a spicy twist, add cayenne pepper or chili powder to the seasoning mix.
  • You can dip these fries in your favorite sauces like ketchup, aioli, or even a creamy ranch.
  • If you prefer thinner fries, slice them thinner, but watch the baking time, as they may cook faster.
