Description

These no yeast cinnamon rolls are a quick and delicious treat perfect for breakfast or dessert. With a simple cream cheese icing, they are sure to be a hit with your family and friends.


Ingredients

– 2/3 cup whole milk

– 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided

– 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, divided

– 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

– 4 tablespoons granulated sugar

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 1/2 cup light brown sugar

– 2 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

– Cream Cheese Icing:

– 2 ounces cream cheese, room temperature

– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 2 tablespoons whole milk

– 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted


Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and grease a baking dish.

2. In a saucepan, heat the milk and 4 tablespoons of butter until the butter is melted.

3. In a large bowl, mix 2 cups of flour, baking powder, 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, and salt. Gradually add the milk mixture and stir until a dough forms.

4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.

5. Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and spread it over the dough.

6. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle it over the dough.

7. Roll up the dough tightly and slice into 12 rolls. Place them in the baking dish.

8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

9. In a separate bowl, mix the cream cheese, butter, salt, vanilla, milk, and powdered sugar for the icing.

10. Drizzle the icing over the warm cinnamon rolls and serve.


Notes

– For a twist, add chopped nuts or raisins to the filling before rolling.

– To make these gluten-free, use a gluten-free flour blend in place of all-purpose flour.
