Description

Warm up your winter evenings with this delightful mulled wine recipe. A perfect blend of red wine, spices, and citrus flavors that will surely keep you cozy and satisfied.


Ingredients

– 750 ml dry, fruity red wine (1 bottle – Merlot, Zinfandel, or Cabernet Sauvignon)

– 2 cups apple cider

– 1/4 cup honey

– 1 orange, zested and juiced

– 5 whole cloves

– 4 green cardamom pods

– 2 cinnamon sticks

– 1 whole star anise

– 1/4 cup brandy

– Orange slices for garnish

– Cinnamon sticks for garnish


Instructions

1. In a large pot, combine the red wine, apple cider, honey, orange zest and juice, cloves, cardamom pods, cinnamon sticks, and star anise.

2. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Do not boil.

3. Remove from heat and stir in the brandy.

4. Strain the mulled wine to remove the spices.

5. Serve hot, garnished with orange slices and cinnamon sticks.


Notes

– For a sweeter version, add more honey to taste.

– Feel free to adjust the spices to suit your taste preferences.
