Description

Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles is the perfect weeknight meal when you’re craving bold flavors but need something quick and easy. Packed with savory-sweet goodness, tender noodles, and juicy ground beef, this dish comes together in no time and satisfies everyone at the table. It’s a delicious fusion of classic Mongolian flavors with the heartiness of pasta, making it an instant favorite.

Ingredients

Units Scale

  • 8 oz spaghetti or your favorite noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger (or 1 tsp freshly grated ginger)
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 green onions, chopped (plus more for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the Noodles: Prepare the linguine or spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté Aromatics: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Sauté minced garlic and ginger until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Brown the Beef: Add ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Prepare the Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, beef broth, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, and crushed red pepper flakes.
  5. Combine and Simmer: Pour the sauce into the skillet with the beef. Stir to combine and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Mix in Noodles: Add the cooked noodles to the skillet. Toss to coat the noodles evenly with the sauce and beef mixture.
  7. Serve: Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, increase the amount of crushed red pepper flakes.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • Add vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli for added nutrition.
