Main Meatloaf Ingredients:
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 cup diced white onion
- 1 cup plain bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup milk (whole, 2%, 1%, or skim)
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
For the glaze:
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Mix ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, basil, oregano, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix well.
- Form loaf: Shape the mixture into a loaf shape and place it in the prepared baking dish.
- Make glaze: In a small bowl, mix together the ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Spread this glaze over the meatloaf.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until the meatloaf is cooked through.
