- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 8 ounces pasta (such as fettuccine, penne, or spaghetti)

- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
- Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
- Cook the Chicken:
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter.
- Once the butter has melted, add the chicken pieces.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Cook until the chicken is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Prepare the Sauce:
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium.
- Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter.
- Once melted, add the minced garlic and chopped onion.
- Sauté until fragrant and the onion becomes translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in the Italian seasoning.
- Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine.
- Allow the sauce to simmer gently for 3-4 minutes, letting it thicken slightly.
- Combine Everything:
- Add the grated Parmesan cheese to the sauce, stirring until melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, stirring to coat with the sauce.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to combine.
- If the sauce is too thick, gradually add some of the reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.
- Serve:
- Taste and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider incorporating a splash of white wine to deglaze the pan after sautéing the garlic and onion.
- This dish pairs well with a side of steamed vegetables or a fresh green salad.
