- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
For the Cream Cheese Swirl:
- 4 oz (115g) cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Prepare Batter: In another bowl, cream butter and sugar, then beat in eggs, sour cream, lemon juice, and zest. Gradually mix in dry ingredients.
- Make Cream Cheese Swirl: Beat together cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk, and lemon juice until smooth.
- Layer Batter: Pour half of the bread batter into the loaf pan, top with half of the cream cheese mixture, then repeat with remaining batter and cream cheese.
- Bake: Bake for about 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool before slicing and serving.
