Description

Refreshing and aromatic, this lavender lemonade is a delightful twist on a classic summer drink. The combination of floral lavender and tangy lemon creates a unique and flavorful beverage.

Ingredients

– 6 cups water (1,362 grams), divided

– 1/2 cup granulated sugar (100 grams)

– 1/4 cup honey (88 grams)

– 3 tablespoons dried culinary lavender (8 grams), plus more for garnish

– 2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (454 grams, from 10-12 lemons)

– Blue or purple food coloring (optional, to enhance color)

– Lemon slices (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

1. In a medium saucepan, combine 2 cups of water, sugar, honey, and dried lavender. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar and honey are dissolved. Remove from heat and let steep for 20-30 minutes.

2. Strain the lavender mixture into a large pitcher. Discard the lavender.

3. Stir in the remaining water, lemon juice, and food coloring (if using). Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

4. Serve over ice, garnished with fresh lavender and lemon slices.

Notes

– For a sweeter lemonade, adjust the amount of sugar and honey to taste.

– You can also add a splash of vodka or gin for a boozy version of this lavender lemonade.
