Description

These Jalapeño Popper Wonton Cups are the ultimate spicy and creamy appetizer! Crispy wonton wrappers are filled with a creamy, cheesy jalapeño mixture and baked to perfection for a bite-sized version of your favorite jalapeño popper. Perfect for parties or game day!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 package (12 oz) wonton wrappers
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 fresh jalapeños, seeds removed and finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (optional)
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the wonton cups: Lightly grease a mini muffin tin. Press each wonton wrapper into the muffin tin cups, folding the edges to form a cup shape. Bake for 5-7 minutes or until the edges are golden and crispy. Remove from the oven and set aside.
  3. Prepare the filling: In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, chopped jalapeños, bacon (if using), mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until smooth and creamy.
  4. Fill the wonton cups: Spoon the jalapeño popper mixture into each wonton cup, filling them generously.
  5. Bake again: Return the filled wonton cups to the oven and bake for another 10-12 minutes, or until the filling is bubbly and golden on top.
  6. Garnish and serve: Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Garnish with fresh cilantro, if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a milder version, remove all the seeds and membranes from the jalapeños or use a mild pepper like poblano.
  • For extra flavor, sprinkle some extra cheddar cheese on top before baking.
  • You can make these ahead and refrigerate the filled cups; just bake them when you’re ready to serve.
