Description

This homemade B!tchin’ Sauce is a creamy, garlicky, and smoky almond-based dip that’s perfect for spreading, dipping, or drizzling. Made with wholesome ingredients, it’s naturally vegan, gluten-free, and packed with flavor. Enjoy it with veggies, chips, or as a delicious sandwich spread!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup raw almonds
  • 1/2 cup water (plus more as needed)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. Soak the Almonds:

    • Soak the almonds in hot water for at least 1 hour (or overnight in the fridge). Drain before using.

  2. Blend Until Smooth:

    • In a high-speed blender, combine the soaked almonds, water, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, nutritional yeast, smoked paprika, cumin, cayenne (if using), and salt. Blend until completely smooth.

  3. Adjust Consistency:

    • If the sauce is too thick, add more water, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired texture.

  4. Taste and Adjust:

    • Add more lemon juice for tang, more salt for balance, or more smoked paprika for depth.

  5. Chill and Serve:

    • Transfer to a container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.

Notes

  • Use a High-Speed Blender: Ensures a smooth and creamy texture.
  • Let It Chill: The flavors develop even more after resting in the fridge.
  • Make It Spicier: Add extra cayenne or blend in a chipotle pepper for heat.
  • Storage: Keep refrigerated for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 2 months.
