For the Casserole:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup milk (optional)
For the Seasoning & Cheese:
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Brown Ground Beef: In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.
- Sauté Onion & Garlic: Add olive oil, onion, and garlic to the skillet. Cook until softened.
- Layer Casserole: In a greased casserole dish, layer half of the potatoes, beef mixture, and cheeses. Repeat the layers.
- Add Liquid: Pour beef broth and milk over the casserole.
- Bake: Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Garnish & Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- You can customize this casserole by adding your favorite vegetables or swapping out the cheeses for different flavors.
- If you prefer a crispy top, broil the casserole for a few minutes at the end of baking.
