This delicious Hamburger Casserole Recipe is a hearty and comforting dish that the whole family will love. With layers of ground beef, pasta, creamy cheese, and flavorful seasonings, it’s the perfect weeknight meal.
Ingredients
– 1 pound lean ground beef
– 1/2 cup diced onion
– 1/2 cup diced bell pepper (any color)
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 14.5 ounces diced tomatoes, drained (1 can)
– 2 tablespoons tomato paste
– 1 teaspoon kosher salt
– 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
– 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
– 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
– 8 ounces dry shell pasta (1/2 box)
– 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature and cubed
– 1/2 cup sour cream
– 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
– 1/2 cup freshly shredded cheddar cheese
– 1/2 cup freshly shredded mozzarella cheese
– Fresh parsley, optional for garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. In a large skillet, brown ground beef with onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Drain any excess fat.
3. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato paste, salt, Italian seasoning, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
4. Cook pasta according to package instructions and drain.
5. In a separate bowl, mix cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Stir in cooked pasta.
6. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half of the pasta mixture, followed by the beef mixture, remaining pasta mixture, and top with shredded cheeses.
7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
– For a twist, add diced mushrooms or diced jalapenos to the beef mixture.
– To make it healthier, use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef.
