Ingredients

Units Scale
  • Main Ingredients:

    • 1 lb beef sirloin or filet, thinly sliced
    • 2 tbsp olive oil
    • 1 tbsp butter
    • 1 small onion, finely chopped
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • Additional Ingredients:

    • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
    • 1/2 cup beef broth
    • 1/2 cup heavy cream or sour cream
    • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
    • Salt & black pepper, to taste
    • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef: Season the beef slices with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and sear the beef until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté onions until translucent. Add garlic and mushrooms, cooking until tender.
  3. Create the Sauce: Stir in Dijon mustard, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for a few minutes before adding the cream. Return the beef to the skillet and cook until heated through.
  4. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve the Beef Stroganoff hot over noodles or rice.

Notes

  • You can substitute sour cream for heavy cream for a tangier flavor.
  • Feel free to add a splash of white wine for extra depth of flavor.
  • If the sauce is too thin, you can thicken it with a cornstarch slurry.
