- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley or chives for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the Toast:
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- Place the bread slices butter-side-up on a baking sheet.
Add Cheese:
- Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded cheese over each slice of bread.
Create a Well for the Egg:
- Using the back of a spoon, create a small well in the center of the cheese.
- Crack one egg into each well.
Bake:
- Season with garlic powder (if using), salt, and pepper.
- Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the egg whites are set and the yolk is still soft.
Serve:
- Garnish with fresh parsley or chives, if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- For a crispier texture, toast the bread in a toaster before adding cheese and the egg.
- Customize the cheese to your preference—try mixing cheddar and mozzarella for extra gooeyness!
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or paprika for a little heat.
- If you prefer the egg yolk more cooked, leave it in the oven for a few extra minutes.
