Description

This Garlic Butter Cod recipe is a quick and delicious way to enjoy tender, flaky cod fillets with a rich and flavorful garlic butter sauce. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or a fancy seafood treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cod fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 lemon (juice and zest)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the cod fillets and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the butter over low heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Stir in lemon juice and zest, and let the sauce simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Return the cod fillets to the skillet and spoon the garlic butter sauce over them. Cook for another 1-2 minutes to warm through.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately with your favorite side dishes.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh cod fillets.
  • Serve with rice, roasted vegetables, or a side salad for a complete meal.
  • Avoid overcooking the cod to keep it tender and flaky.
