- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
- 1 tbsp poppy seeds (optional)
- 1 tbsp dried garlic flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Mix the Dough:
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
- Pour in the warm water and olive oil, and stir until everything is combined. The dough will be sticky.
- Let the Dough Rise:
- Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let it rise for 12 to 18 hours at room temperature, or until it has doubled in size and is bubbly on top.
- Shape the Dough:
- Once the dough has risen, gently punch it down and shape it into a rough ball.
- Place the dough on a piece of parchment paper to make it easy to transfer to the pot.
- Preheat the Oven and Pot:
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Place a Dutch oven with its lid inside the oven while it preheats.
- Add Everything Bagel Topping:
- Before baking, brush the top of the dough with a little water and sprinkle generously with everything bagel seasoning. Add sesame seeds, poppy seeds, and garlic flakes for extra flavor if desired.
- Bake:
- Carefully remove the preheated Dutch oven from the oven, place the dough (with the parchment paper) inside, and cover it with the lid.
- Bake for 30 minutes, then remove the lid and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Cool and Serve:
- Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
