These Easy Homemade Glazed Doughnut Holes are a delightful treat perfect for breakfast or dessert. The doughnut holes are fried to golden perfection, then coated in a sweet vanilla glaze.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the glaze:

  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

For the doughnut holes:

  • 5 cups vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tablespoons sugar
  • 4 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glaze: In a bowl, whisk together confectioners’ sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Make the doughnut holes: In a large bowl, mix milk and egg. Add flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and melted butter. Stir until combined. Heat oil in a pot to 375°F. Use a small ice cream scoop to drop dough into hot oil. Fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  3. Glaze the doughnut holes: Dip each doughnut hole into the glaze, turning to coat evenly. Allow excess glaze to drip off.

Notes

  • Be careful when frying the doughnut holes to ensure they cook evenly and don’t burn.
  • You can customize the glaze by adding different flavors or colors.
