- 5 cups vegetable oil, for frying
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- 4 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Prepare the glaze: In a bowl, whisk together confectioners’ sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Set aside.
- Make the doughnut holes: In a large bowl, mix milk and egg. Add flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and melted butter. Stir until combined. Heat oil in a pot to 375°F. Use a small ice cream scoop to drop dough into hot oil. Fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- Glaze the doughnut holes: Dip each doughnut hole into the glaze, turning to coat evenly. Allow excess glaze to drip off.
