Scale
- 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (optional, for glaze)
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (optional, for glaze)
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough
Roll out the crescent dough on a lightly floured surface. Press the seams together to form a single sheet. - Add the Cinnamon-Sugar Filling
Brush the melted butter evenly over the dough. In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle the mixture over the buttered dough. - Roll and Cut
Tightly roll the dough into a log, starting from the long edge. Slice the log lengthwise to expose the layers. - Shape and Bake
Twist each strip and coil it into a muffin tin, forming a cruffin shape. Bake at 375°F for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed. - Optional Glaze
Whisk together powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle over warm cruffins before serving.
Notes
- Use puff pastry instead of crescent dough for a flakier texture.
- Swap granulated sugar for brown sugar for a deeper caramelized flavor.
- Add a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom for extra warmth.
- Grease the muffin tin well or use parchment liners to prevent sticking.
