Description

These Easy Cinnamon Cruffins combine the buttery layers of croissants with the warm cinnamon-sugar goodness of a cinnamon roll. Made with store-bought crescent dough, they’re a quick and delicious pastry perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (optional, for glaze)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (optional, for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough
Roll out the crescent dough on a lightly floured surface. Press the seams together to form a single sheet.
  2. Add the Cinnamon-Sugar Filling
Brush the melted butter evenly over the dough. In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle the mixture over the buttered dough.
  3. Roll and Cut
Tightly roll the dough into a log, starting from the long edge. Slice the log lengthwise to expose the layers.
  4. Shape and Bake
Twist each strip and coil it into a muffin tin, forming a cruffin shape. Bake at 375°F for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  5. Optional Glaze
Whisk together powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle over warm cruffins before serving.

Notes

  • Use puff pastry instead of crescent dough for a flakier texture.
  • Swap granulated sugar for brown sugar for a deeper caramelized flavor.
  • Add a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom for extra warmth.
  • Grease the muffin tin well or use parchment liners to prevent sticking.
