Description

This creamy and delicious Alfredo sauce paired with penne pasta is a quick and easy dinner option that the whole family will love.

Ingredients

– 16 ounces penne pasta

– 8 tablespoons unsalted butter

– 2 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 cup heavy cream

– 2 ounces cream cheese, very soft

– 1 cup freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, plus more for serving

– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

– 1 cup reserved pasta water

– Salt to taste

Instructions

1. Cook penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.

2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.

3. Stir in heavy cream and cream cheese until smooth. Add Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese and black pepper, stirring until cheese is melted.

4. Add reserved pasta water to thin out the sauce as needed. Season with salt to taste.

5. Toss cooked penne pasta in the Alfredo sauce until well coated. Serve hot with extra Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese on top.

Notes

– For a lighter version, you can use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.

– Add cooked chicken, shrimp, or vegetables for a protein-packed meal.
