Tender salmon pieces are coated in a light, crispy batter, served with a deliciously tangy bang bang sauce that will have you coming back for more. Great as an appetizer or snack!

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Salmon Bites:

  • 1 lb fresh salmon, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

For the Bang Bang Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce (adjust for spice level)
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar

For Garnish (Optional):

  • Chopped green onions
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bang Bang sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, honey, and rice vinegar until smooth. Set aside.
  2. In a shallow dish, mix together flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. In another dish, whisk the egg and cold water together to create a batter.
  4. Dip the salmon cubes into the batter, then coat them with the flour mixture. Shake off any excess flour.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully fry the salmon cubes in batches, cooking for 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the salmon from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  7. Toss the crispy salmon bites in the prepared Bang Bang sauce until well coated.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra crunch, you can double coat the salmon by dipping it back into the batter and flour mixture.
  • If you prefer a lighter version, bake the salmon bites at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes instead of frying.
  • Adjust the amount of Sriracha in the sauce to your preferred spice level.
