  • 1 10.5 ounce can of cream of chicken soup.
  • 1 6 oz box of stuffing mix.
  • 8 oz. sour cream equivalent to 1 cup
  •  cup of water.
  • 1 16 oz bag of frozen green beans.
  • 3-4 large salted and peppered chicken breasts.

  1. In the crock pot, place the chicken.
  2. In a bowl, add the soup, sour cream, stuffing, half of the water and mix well together then pour over the chicken.
  3. Add the string beans and the rest of the water.
  4. Cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 6 to 7 hours.

Ps: Youll want to mix the stuffing periodically if possible, I dont mind mixing the string beans in with the stuffing but if youd prefer that they remain separate, place the string beans more to the side.

Serving Tips:

  1. Garnish for Presentation: Before serving, sprinkle some fresh parsley or chopped green onions over the Crockpot Chicken & Stuffing for a pop of color and added freshness. This simple garnish not only enhances the presentation but also adds a subtle hint of flavor.
  2. Pair with Vegetables: Serve your Crockpot Chicken & Stuffing alongside steamed green beans, roasted carrots, or a crisp salad to round out the meal with a variety of textures and flavors. The vegetables will add freshness and balance to the rich and comforting dish.
  3. Serve with Cranberry Sauce: For a classic holiday-inspired twist, serve your Crockpot Chicken & Stuffing with a side of tangy cranberry sauce. The sweet and tart flavor of the cranberry sauce complements the savory chicken and stuffing beautifully.
  4. Family-Style Serving: Place the crockpot directly on the dining table and let everyone help themselves. This family-style serving option adds a cozy and communal element to the meal, allowing everyone to dig in and enjoy their favorite parts of the dish.

Storage Tips:

  1. Refrigeration: If you have leftovers, allow the Crockpot Chicken & Stuffing to cool to room temperature before transferring it to an airtight container. Store it in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
  2. Reheating: When ready to enjoy the leftovers, reheat the Crockpot Chicken & Stuffing in the microwave or oven until heated through. You may need to add a splash of chicken broth or water to the stuffing to prevent it from drying out during reheating.
  3. Freezing (Optional): While the texture of the stuffing may change slightly after freezing, you can freeze leftovers for longer storage. Place the cooled Crockpot Chicken & Stuffing in a freezer-safe container or resealable bag and freeze for up to 2-3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
  4. Portion Control: Consider portioning out individual servings of the Crockpot Chicken & Stuffing before storing to make reheating and serving easier. This also helps prevent food waste by allowing you to thaw and reheat only what you need.

  1. Can I use bone-in chicken for this recipe?
    • While boneless, skinless chicken breasts are typically used for convenience and ease of serving, you can certainly use bone-in chicken pieces such as thighs or drumsticks. Just adjust the cooking time accordingly, as bone-in chicken may require a slightly longer cooking time to ensure it’s fully cooked.
  2. Can I use homemade stuffing instead of a pre-packaged mix?
    • Yes, you can absolutely use homemade stuffing for this recipe. Simply prepare your favorite stuffing recipe according to the instructions, and layer it over the chicken in the crockpot as directed. Homemade stuffing adds a personal touch and allows you to customize the flavors to your liking.
  3. Is it necessary to brown the chicken before adding it to the crockpot?
    • Browning the chicken before adding it to the crockpot is optional but recommended. Browning helps seal in the juices and adds flavor to the chicken. However, if you’re short on time, you can skip this step without compromising the overall taste and texture of the dish.
  4. Can I add vegetables to the crockpot with the chicken and stuffing?
    • Absolutely! Feel free to add diced vegetables such as carrots, celery, or onions to the crockpot along with the chicken and stuffing for added flavor and nutrition. Just keep in mind that certain vegetables may require longer cooking times, so adjust accordingly.
  5. Can I double the recipe for a larger crowd?
    • Yes, you can easily double or even triple the recipe to feed a larger crowd. Simply increase the quantities of all the ingredients accordingly and use a larger crockpot if necessary. Just be sure not to overcrowd the crockpot to ensure even cooking.
