Indulge in the rich flavors of creamy Parmesan shrimp with a hint of garlic and white wine. This decadent dish is perfect for a special dinner at home.
Ingredients
– 1 1/2 pounds shrimp, peeled and deveined
– Kosher salt, to taste
– Ground black pepper, to taste
– 1/4 cup unsalted butter, divided (1/2 stick or 4 tablespoons)
– 1/2 cup diced yellow onion
– 6 cloves garlic, minced
– 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, plus more to taste
– 2/3 cup dry white wine
– 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
– 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– Chopped fresh parsley and lemon wedges for garnish
– Cooked pasta or rice for serving
Instructions
1. Season shrimp with salt and black pepper.
2. In a large skillet, melt half of the butter over medium heat. Add shrimp and cook until pink, then remove from skillet and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, add remaining butter, onion, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Cook until onion is softened.
4. Pour in white wine and simmer until reduced by half.
5. Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
6. Return shrimp to the skillet and heat through.
7. Serve over cooked pasta or rice, garnished with parsley and lemon wedges.
Notes
– For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
– Add cherry tomatoes or spinach for extra flavor and color.
