Main Ingredients:
- 1 (16 ounce) package farfalle (bow tie) pasta
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 small onions, chopped
- 1 (4 ounce) can mushroom pieces and stems, drained
Sauce Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 cups milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons crushed garlic
- Salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Cook the farfalle pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Cook the Chicken: In a skillet, heat vegetable oil and cook chicken until no longer pink. Remove from skillet and slice into strips.
- Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, melt butter, sauté onions and mushrooms. Add flour, then gradually stir in milk. Add garlic, salt, and pepper. Cook until thickened.
- Combine Ingredients: Add cooked chicken to the sauce. Serve over cooked pasta.
