Description

These delightful bites combine the warm, comforting flavors of cinnamon rolls with the classic appeal of French toast. Soft and doughy, they’re coated in cinnamon sugar and served with a side of cream cheese icing for dipping

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 can of refrigerated cinnamon rolls (with icing)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese icing (from the cinnamon roll can)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Open the can of cinnamon rolls and separate them. Cut each roll into 4 equal pieces.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
  4. In a separate shallow dish, mix the white sugar and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
  5. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Dip each cinnamon roll piece into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated, then place it in the skillet. Cook until golden brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Transfer the cooked bites to a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes, or until cooked through.
  8. While baking, warm the cream cheese icing in the microwave for 15-20 seconds until it reaches a dippable consistency.
  9. Once baked, remove the bites from the oven and toss them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until well coated.
  10. Serve immediately with the warm cream cheese icing on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, consider adding a pinch of nutmeg to the egg mixture.
  • Ensure the cream cheese icing is warmed slightly to make dipping easier.
