For the Dough:
- 3 cups (375g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup (180ml) warm milk (about 110°F)
- 3 tbsp (45g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
For the Cinnamon Swirl:
- 1/3 cup (65g) brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp (30g) unsalted butter, melted
For the Egg Wash:
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp milk
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a small bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead & Rise: Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–1.5 hours until doubled in size.
- Prepare the Filling: Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Roll Out Dough: Punch down the dough and roll it into a 9×18-inch rectangle. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle evenly with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Form the Loaf: Roll the dough tightly from the short end and place it seam-side down in a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan. Cover and let rise for another 45 minutes.
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush the loaf with egg wash.
- Bake: Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden brown. Let cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan.
- Slice & Serve: Allow to cool completely before slicing. Enjoy plain or toasted with butter!
