Ingredients
Scale
Cake Mixture
- 1 box Little Debbie Chocolate Christmas Tree Cakes (5 cakes)
- 3 tablespoons festive sprinkles, plus extra for topping
Coating and Drizzle
- 1 & 1/3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
- 3 tablespoons white chocolate chips, melted (optional, for drizzling)
Instructions
- Prepare the Cake Mixture: Crumble the 5 Little Debbie Chocolate Christmas Tree Cakes into fine crumbs in a large mixing bowl. Add 3 tablespoons of festive sprinkles to the crumbs and mix thoroughly until well combined.
- Form the Truffles: Using your hands or a small scoop, form the cake mixture into bite-sized balls. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and chill in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to firm up.
- Melt the Chocolate: In separate microwave-safe bowls, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips and white chocolate chips (if using) in 20-30 second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and fully melted.
- Coat the Truffles: Remove the chilled truffles from the refrigerator. Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each truffle into the melted semi-sweet chocolate, ensuring they are fully coated. Allow excess chocolate to drip off before placing them back on the parchment paper.
- Add Drizzle and Sprinkles: While the semi-sweet coating is still wet, drizzle the melted white chocolate over the truffles using a spoon or piping bag for a decorative touch. Immediately sprinkle extra festive sprinkles on top to finish.
- Set and Serve: Allow the chocolate coatings to set completely at room temperature or place the truffles back in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes. Once set, serve the truffles or store them in an airtight container until ready to enjoy.
Notes
- For a smoother coating, ensure the chocolate is melted gently and stirred thoroughly.
- Use parchment or wax paper to prevent sticking while setting the truffles.
- These truffles can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- Optional white chocolate drizzle adds a festive look but can be omitted if preferred.
- Feel free to experiment with other types of sprinkles or coatings such as crushed nuts or cocoa powder.
