Description

This creamy Chicken Alfredo Tortellini is a quick, satisfying dish that combines tender chicken, cheese-filled tortellini, and a rich Alfredo sauce. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or a cozy weekend meal, this recipe is comfort food at its finest.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Dish:

  • 1 pound cheese tortellini (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Tortellini: Cook tortellini according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté the Garlic: In a large skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Make the Alfredo Sauce: Reduce heat to low and stir in heavy cream. Add Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using). Stir until the sauce is smooth and creamy, about 3–4 minutes.
  4. Add Chicken and Tortellini: Stir in the cooked chicken and tortellini, tossing to coat everything evenly in the sauce. Cook for another 2–3 minutes to heat through.
  5. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan cheese, if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For added flavor, sauté mushrooms or spinach along with the garlic.
  • Use rotisserie chicken to save time.
  • Swap heavy cream for half-and-half for a lighter version.
