Description

Cherry Kiss Cookies are delightful treats with a buttery almond flavor, studded with maraschino cherries and topped with a milk chocolate kiss. Perfect for any occasion!


Ingredients

    • 1 cup powdered sugar

    • 2 teaspoons maraschino cherry juice
    • 1 teaspoon almond extract
    • 6 drops red food coloring, optional
    • 21/4 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries
  • Topping:

    • 30 milk chocolate kisses, unwrapped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar: In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add flavorings: Mix in salt, cherry juice, almond extract, and food coloring (if using).
  4. Combine dry ingredients: Gradually add flour to the mixture until well combined. Fold in chopped cherries.
  5. Form cookies: Shape dough into balls and place on prepared baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  6. Add chocolate kisses: As soon as cookies come out of the oven, gently press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie. Allow to cool before serving.
