Description
A stunning layered cocktail that captures the vibrant colors of a Caribbean sunset in a glass. This tropical drink combines rum with fruit juices to create a gradient effect from deep red to orange to yellow, reminiscent of a beautiful island sunset.

- 1.5 oz white rum
- 1 oz coconut rum
- 2 oz pineapple juice
- 1 oz orange juice
- 1/2 oz grenadine
- 1/2 oz passion fruit syrup
- Ice cubes
- Orange slice and maraschino cherry (for garnish)
- Optional: coconut cream float
Instructions
- Fill a tall hurricane glass with ice cubes.
- Pour the pineapple juice and white rum into the glass.
- Slowly add the orange juice and coconut rum by pouring over the back of a spoon to create a layer.
- Very slowly pour the grenadine down the inside of the glass, allowing it to sink to the bottom.
- Add a small splash of passion fruit syrup to enhance the sunset effect.
- Optional: Float a small amount of coconut cream on top for a “cloud” effect.
- Garnish with an orange slice and maraschino cherry.
Notes
- For the best layered effect, pour ingredients very slowly and in the correct order
- Chill all ingredients beforehand for best results
- For a non-alcoholic version, replace both rums with additional fruit juices and add a splash of coconut water
- The passion fruit syrup can be replaced with mango nectar
- Use a clear glass to showcase the beautiful gradient effect
