Description

This Buffalo Chicken Tater Tot Casserole is a spicy, cheesy, and ultra-comforting dish that’s easy to make. Packed with bold buffalo flavors, creamy cheese, and crispy tater tots, it’s perfect for game day, potlucks, or a cozy family dinner!


Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked, shredded chicken (rotisserie or cooked chicken breast)
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1/2 cup ranch or blue cheese dressing
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • Optional toppings: Extra buffalo sauce, ranch dressing, chopped green onions, blue cheese crumbles

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  2. Make the Buffalo Chicken Mixture:

    • In a large bowl, mix shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, buffalo sauce, ranch (or blue cheese) dressing, and 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese until well combined.

  3. Assemble the Casserole:

    • Spread the buffalo chicken mixture evenly in the baking dish.

    • Sprinkle ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese over the top.

    • Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer.

  4. Bake Until Golden: Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the tater tots are crispy and golden brown.

  5. Add Extra Cheese & Toppings:

    • Remove from the oven, sprinkle ½ cup more cheddar cheese, and bake for 5 more minutes until melted.

  6. Cool & Serve: Let the casserole sit for 5 minutes, then drizzle with extra buffalo sauce and ranch dressing. Garnish with chopped green onions or blue cheese crumbles if desired.
