Description

This Blueberry Gin Sour is a refreshing cocktail that combines the sweetness of blueberries with the tartness of lemon juice, all balanced out with the botanical notes of gin. Perfect for a summer evening or a special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 100 g | 3.5oz | 1 cup fresh or frozen and defrosted blueberries
  • 2 tbsp simple syrup or 1 tbsp sugar
  • 4 tbsp fresh lemon juice from one large lemon
  • 2 tbsp egg white
  • 100 ml | 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp gin
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters (optional)
  • lemon peel to serve

Instructions

  1. Prepare Blueberry Mix: In a shaker, muddle the blueberries with simple syrup or sugar until well combined.
  2. Add Ingredients: Add lemon juice, gin, egg white, and Angostura Bitters to the shaker.
  3. Shake: Shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to emulsify the egg white.
  4. Strain and Serve: Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice. Garnish with lemon peel and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less simple syrup/sugar.
  • For a vegan version, you can omit the egg white or use aquafaba as a substitute.
