Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Blackened Seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for spice preference)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

For the Steak & Shrimp

  • 1 (12-ounce) ribeye or New York strip steak
  • 8 ounces large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

For the Alfredo Sauce & Pasta

  • 12 ounces fettuccine pasta
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. Cook the Pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2. Prepare and Cook the Steak

  • Pat the steak dry and rub it evenly with the blackened seasoning.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
  • Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes per side (for medium-rare) or adjust for preferred doneness.
  • Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

3. Cook the Shrimp

  • In the same skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
  • Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  • Squeeze lemon juice over the shrimp and set aside.

4. Make the Alfredo Sauce

  • In a separate pan over medium heat, melt butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  • Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Stir in Parmesan cheese, whisking until smooth and creamy.
  • Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

5. Assemble the Dish

  • Toss the cooked fettuccine in the Alfredo sauce until well coated.
  • Plate the pasta, then top with sliced blackened steak and shrimp.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • Spice Level: The blackened seasoning adds a kick to the dish. Adjust the amount of seasoning to control the heat level.
  • Protein Alternatives: Chicken or salmon can be used instead of steak and shrimp.
  • Cheese: For the best texture, use freshly grated parmesan cheese.
