- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 can (4 oz) diced green chilies
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 4 cups beef broth (or chicken broth)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking the beef)
- Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, avocado, tortilla chips, cilantro
Instructions
- Cook the Ground Beef:
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
- Transfer to Slow Cooker:
- Add the cooked ground beef to the slow cooker.
- Add the diced onion, taco seasoning, garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
