Description

Craving pizza but don’t have an oven? No problem! This stovetop pizza recipe delivers a crispy base, gooey cheese, and your favorite toppings in minutes. Perfect for a quick and satisfying meal without the need for special equipment.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • For the Dough:
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/2 cup plain yogurt (or 1/4 cup milk with 1/4 cup water)
    • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • For the Toppings:
    • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
    • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
    • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni, vegetables, or toppings of choice
    • 1/4 tsp dried oregano (optional)
    • 1/4 tsp chili flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add yogurt and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms. Knead for 5 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rest for 15–20 minutes.
  2. Shape the Dough:
    1. Divide the dough into 2 portions for personal-sized pizzas or keep it whole for a large pizza. Roll out the dough into a circle about 1/4-inch thick.
  3. Preheat the Pan:
    1. Heat a large non-stick or cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Lightly grease with olive oil.
  4. Cook the Base:
    1. Place the rolled-out dough onto the skillet. Cook for 2–3 minutes until bubbles appear and the bottom is golden brown. Flip the dough.
  5. Add Toppings:
    1. Spread a layer of pizza sauce over the cooked side. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and add your favorite toppings.
  6. Melt the Cheese:
    1. Cover the skillet with a lid and cook on low heat for 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve:
    1. Remove the pizza from the skillet and sprinkle with oregano or chili flakes if desired. Slice and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use a tortilla, naan, or store-bought flatbread for an even quicker pizza base.
  • For extra crispiness, cook the base longer on medium-high heat before adding toppings.
  • Experiment with toppings like cooked chicken, mushrooms, or fresh basil.
