Description

Bacon Cheese Bombs are a deliciously cheesy, savory snack made by wrapping sharp cheddar cheese and crispy bacon inside fluffy biscuit dough, then baking until golden and melty. These bite-sized treats are perfect for game days, parties, or anytime you want a comforting appetizer with a savory twist.

Ingredients

Scale

Biscuit Dough

  • 1 can (8 count) biscuits

Cheese

  • 8 oz Tillamook Sharp Cheddar Cheese, cut into 0.5 oz blocks
  • Tillamook Farm Style Thick Cuts Cheddar Cheese, amount as desired for topping

Meat

  • 4 pieces bacon, cooked crispy and chopped

Others

  • ¼ tablespoon salted butter, melted
  • oregano, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the cheese bombs.
  2. Prepare bacon: Cook the bacon until crispy, then chop it into small pieces. Set aside.
  3. Prepare cheese and dough: Cut the sharp cheddar cheese into small blocks of about 0.5 oz each. Open the biscuit can and separate each biscuit.
  4. Assemble bombs: Flatten each biscuit dough piece, place a cheese block and some chopped bacon inside, then carefully fold the dough around the filling to form a ball, sealing the edges well.
  5. Apply butter and seasoning: Brush the tops of each dough ball with melted salted butter and sprinkle oregano over them for added flavor.
  6. Top with cheese: Sprinkle the Tillamook Farm Style Thick Cuts Cheddar Cheese on top of each formed bomb for a gooey, cheesy crust.
  7. Bake: Place the bombs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a lightly greased pan. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-18 minutes or until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  8. Serve warm: Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving these delicious bacon cheese bombs warm.

Notes

  • Bacon can be substituted with turkey bacon for a leaner option.
  • Make sure to seal the biscuit dough tightly to prevent cheese from leaking during baking.
  • Use freshly prepped oregano or dried oregano depending on preference.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of garlic powder or paprika inside the filling.
  • These bombs are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven but can be reheated gently in the oven or microwave.
