Description

This Apple Whiskey Bacon Jam is a sweet and savory spread that combines the smoky flavor of bacon with the sweetness of apples, maple syrup, and brown sugar, all balanced out with a hint of whiskey.

    • 1 pound thick-cut bacon, diced
    • 1 large yellow onion, finely diced (about 1 1/2 cups)
    • 2 small Fuji apples, peeled, diced (about 2 cups)
    • 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • For the Jam:

    • 1/2 cup (100 g) brown sugar
    • 1/4 cup (79 g) maple syrup
    • 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
    • 1 teaspoon chili powder
    • 3 tablespoons whiskey

Instructions

  1. Cook Bacon: In a large skillet, cook diced bacon until crispy. Remove bacon from skillet and set aside.
  2. Sauté Onion and Apples: In the same skillet, sauté onions and apples until softened.
  3. Add Remaining Ingredients: Stir in garlic, brown sugar, maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, chili powder, and whiskey. Cook until mixture thickens.
  4. Blend: Transfer mixture to a food processor and pulse until desired consistency is reached.
  5. Store: Transfer jam to jars and refrigerate. Serve on toast, burgers, or cheese boards.
