- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 3/4 cup warm water (110°F)
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (for brushing)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and milk. Stir until a dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 3-5 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and roll each into a ball.
- Place the dough balls into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, ensuring they are close together. Cover with a clean towel and let them rise in a warm spot for about 15 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- After the rolls have risen, bake them in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While the rolls are baking, melt the softened butter and mix in the garlic powder and Parmesan cheese.
- Once the rolls are done, remove them from the oven and immediately brush with the garlic Parmesan butter mixture.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
For extra cheesy rolls, sprinkle more grated Parmesan on top just before baking. You can also add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a bit of heat.
